Efficiency Manitoba Incentives
Did you know that the Canada Greener Homes Program isn’t the only incentive program to make your home more energy efficient?
Efficiency Manitoba offers rebates of $75 per gigajoule (GJ) up to the typical new home GJ rating, and $150 per GJ saved beyond the typical new home GJ rating.
Additionally, they offer a $250 stacking bonus to applicants who participate in both their program and the Canada Greener Homes Grant!
To qualify, you must have a pre-retrofit evaluation from a certified service organization (like Energy Werx MB!).
How to Participate
To qualify for the Efficiency Manitoba rebates you must:
- Get a pre-retrofit energy evaluation from a certified service organization.
- Apply for the program and make your retrofit plan (note: you must apply for the program before any work is started!)
- Complete your product and have your advisor return for the post-retrofit evaluation
- Send in your documents and get your rebate!
Qualification Requirements
To qualify for the rebates, you must meet the following criteria:
- Your home must be a residential, detached, duplex or triplex home on its original foundation
- You must be the owner of the home
- The home must be occupied 12 months out of the year (seasonal homes are not eligible)
- Your home must use electricity or natural gas supplied by Manitoba Hydro
- You must have a pre-retrofit evaluation completed before you start any work
- Your project will need to significantly reduce your home’s energy use
- At least 50% of your home’s energy use reduction will come from building envelope component upgrades (components that separate the interior from exterior such as walls, attics, windows and doors).
