Efficiency Manitoba Incentives

Did you know that the Canada Greener Homes Program isn’t the only incentive program to make your home more energy efficient?

Efficiency Manitoba offers rebates of $75 per gigajoule (GJ) up to the typical new home GJ rating, and $150 per GJ saved beyond the typical new home GJ rating.

Additionally, they offer a $250 stacking bonus to applicants who participate in both their program and the Canada Greener Homes Grant!

To qualify, you must have a pre-retrofit evaluation from a certified service organization (like Energy Werx MB!).

How to Participate

To qualify for the Efficiency Manitoba rebates you must:

  • Get a pre-retrofit energy evaluation from a certified service organization.
  • Apply for the program and make your retrofit plan (note: you must apply for the program before any work is started!)
  • Complete your product and have your advisor return for the post-retrofit evaluation
  • Send in your documents and get your rebate!

Qualification Requirements

To qualify for the rebates, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Your home must be a residential, detached, duplex or triplex home on its original foundation
  • You must be the owner of the home
  • The home must be occupied 12 months out of the year (seasonal homes are not eligible)
  • Your home must use electricity or natural gas supplied by Manitoba Hydro
  • You must have a pre-retrofit evaluation completed before you start any work
  • Your project will need to significantly reduce your home’s energy use
  • At least 50% of your home’s energy use reduction will come from building envelope component upgrades (components that separate the interior from exterior such as walls, attics, windows and doors).
